I dragged this little sweetie home this afternoon. With some TLC, she gon be pretty.
Also, I’m buying my Mrs. a minivan tomorrow. I gave her my nice little GLI as a mommy missile since she got laid off and has to surrender the RAV4. She wasn’t terribly keen on the idea of a small, low, manual car. It’s probably going to have to find a new home now after 8 short months together since we officially have too damn many cars.
I haven't been around much since graduating... Oppo was a great distraction while I was spending hours in front of the computer every day, but the shackles are broken and I'm enjoying my freedom. How's Oppo been?

That looks n iiiiice. I’m surprised you’re ditching the VW so soon. W eren’t you thinking about selling the tow rig, or am I getting your cars mixed up ?
I picked up m y motorcycle endorsement and have been test-driving (riding?) every naked bike I can find. I'm trying to hold off and not buy a bike immediately before a month long trip, but I see Ducatis in my sleep...

Motorcycles are seriously addicting. It never goes away, either... I sold my last bike 4 years ago and I still want another one something terrible. I just know the stress it causes my wife when I go on a ride isn't worth it... Even though she admitted a couple days ago she misses riding with me!
The plan was to sell the Burb, but A. I love the stupid thing and B. it’s just so damn useful. If I can get a good chunk of change for it, I’ll probably pick up some super cheap oldie like a Volvo 240 for gas mileage. I’m just not cut out for new cars. The GLI is fun to drive, it’s been reliable, it looks great, it gets good mileage, but it just doesn’t give me “the fizz”.

Funny how life changes make Oppo visits more or less frequent. Since I got fired from that store manager position I spend a lot less time here...

Pretty good! I had to sink $2k in to my V50 a few weeks ago because the CVVT hubs were leaking and I have no idea when or if the water pump has ever been replaced. But I’ve been enjoying it overall, and plan to keep it long term (unless it needs another $1000+ repair job in the next year).
Once I figure out what’s wrong with my AUX input on the Volvo (which I will hopefully figure out this week), I plan to turn my attention to my poor old truck. First order of business is the tie rod ends, and I’ll need to see if any plugs, wires, or the distributor cap need replacing. My goal is to get it to a place where I feel comfortable taking it wheeling by the end of the summer.
What about you? How’s your freedom? How’re the kids?

yes you have a problem.
you need more vehicles to wrench on
something like a Citroen XM would fill the gap nicely

Hi Tristan. We all have this problem. Stand up and tell us your story. You’re among friends. Unfortunately, we don’t have chips for staying away from your addictions.

I find myself on Oppo either a good amount or not very much. It really seems to come down to how busy I am and if I’m doing anything. When I was unemployed, I was on here all the time, now that I’ve got friends and a job I’m not on here as much. I do really enjoy this place, which is why I came back after a 3 year hiatus, so I do try and check it somewhat regularly; this is really the only form of social media I’m active on, so it’s not terrible .

I had the 5 minute chip, but I sold it for car money.

So much yes! Not my favorite body style, but it’s not me driving it :)
I prefer 70's styling.

Oh yeah, when you’re done with them, just hitch the K5 up to the Suburban and drop them off here. I’ll give you eleventytwelveteen dollars.

It’s a 2-owner truck with 145k miles. Came with all the documentation including the window sticker. Zero body rust or cancer, just a bit of paint peeling on the top surfaces (hood, cowl and roof) and a really nice interior. Has all the nice options, but it’s still only a 305. The plan is to restore it and try to make a few dollars while doing something I enjoy!
It’ll be hard to sell, too... It's gonna be a looker!
